Things I'm hoping not to hear at my high school reunion:

10. "Man, you look OLD." (Standard reunion comment, I know.)
9. "Hey, I remember when you wore those smashed glasses!" (Me too. ME. TOO.)

8. "Still a nerd, huh?" (REALLY hope I don't get this one...)
7. "How many books have you read now?" (A lot. And now I even talk to people about them!)

6. "Aren't you the one who had a crush on _________?" (And I thought I'd been sooo subtle.)
5. "Aren't you the one who said something mean about Jill's haircut?" (Yep. That was me. Sorry, Jill.)
4. "Didn't I send you a Facebook friend request?" (Yep. But I don't really know you...)
3. "Didn't you go to that lesbian college?" (It was a women's college. Grow up already.)

2. "So, you don't do anything then?" (Nope, I just keep 3 kids alive every. blessed. day. Pretty much nothing.)

1. "You look exactly the same!" (Yeah. This might be my nightmare.)

Let's see, you are about halfway to a re-union I might go to and the top ten list might change a bit when you catch up...Enjoy your current list while you can as it might become as follows :-)

10. "Man, you look YOUNG. Is that your natural hair color or are you grey underneath"

9. "Hey, how are those new bi-focals working for you?"

8. "Still married to that Geek, huh?" (and we hope you are)

7. "How many books have you read now?" (A lot. And now I even talk to people about them! ... and with the evolved iPad, you'll be able to take them all to the reunion to show people)

6. "Aren't you the one who had a crush on _________? I here he's divorced and available." (But when you're already married to a Geek, there is no place to go but down.)

5. "Aren't you the one who said something mean about Jill's haircut?" (Yep. That was me. Sorry, Jill...but in the long run, would anyone want the hottest hair styles of the '60s, '70s, or 80s today?)

4. "Didn't I send you a Facebook friend request?" (Yep. But I don't really know you...) [I follow the same practice.]

3. "Didn't you go to that lesbian college?" (It was a women's college. Grow up already.) [Then there is that second college you went to with the politically incorrect mascot...]

2. "So, you don't do anything then?" (Nope, I just keep 3 kids alive every. blessed. day. Pretty much nothing.) [You'll probably still be talking kids, but some of your classmates will be showing pix of the grandkids.]

1. "You look exactly the same!" (Yeah. This might be my nightmare.) [Are you secure enough to post pictures for us to judge?]

Your #1 kills me!

I know it's supposed to be a compliment (i.e. you've aged well), but c'mon!

Guess it would be better than your #10, though. I'd rather be told I look young than old.

I wish I could go (even though I didn't graduate from there, 11 out of 13 years has to count for something).

Top 10 reasons Lyz should be glad she didn't go to the high school in the 1970s:

10. Lack of CD quality music...just vinyl and tapes (cassette and 8-track).

9. Hiss and scratches of the media aside, there was disco and Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life". (Just to be fair, there was good music in the '70s, too)

8. Masterpiece Theatre didn't show anything by Jane Austen. It seemed like forever it was just "Upstairs, Downstairs".

7. No calculators smaller than a breadbox. Of course you might not get to use them on tests anyways because it wouldn't be fair to students who couldn't afford one.

6. Your prom date could very well have been wearing a liesure suit.

5. Cutting and pasting pictures for school reports involved scissors and glue once the text had been typed on a typewriter.

4. Creative Memories scrapbooking materials weren't available for preserving your HS photos, but then people didn't take enough photos to require organizing anyways.

3.

2. Computers were waaaayyy slow and dial up was 110 or 300 bps (no K, no M...just bps). of course there weren't many places to surf to except a mainframe.

1. Blogs (and their predecessors) hadn't been invented yet.

This is funny post. I, too, is anxious of what people would say at my high school reunion. I am a little relieved I am about 12 thousand miles away. =D
