Let's be honest here. Truly, it's only value is sentimental, and even that's only to me. My husband insists that it's the most worthless thing we've moved (three times) and I sincerely doubt my daughter will want to wear it. But I loved it, and how CAN you get rid of the most expensive piece of clothing you've ever purchased? That's just plain silly. I mean, you never know when you need a white dress with a full tulle skirt, right?

Wedding dressed do have a special significance and are symbolic of an important day in you life too. Hopefully. The other drawback to yours is the fact that we had to walk through mud and it got stained. Maybe Leah will wear it as a mini skirt wedding dress. NOOOOOOOOO!
Is it bad that I never opened my hermetically-sealed wedding dress box when it came back from the cleaners? For all I know, the train could be purple and moth-eaten right now. But yes, everytime I purge my closet, the wedding dress remains. ps - how did you get the fun title image uploaded to your blog? I'm still trying to figure that one out.
Liz, if I know you, you've got tons of memorabilia from that day (the least of which being the marriage itself, of course ;). The dress is unnecessary.
Ebay.
1 - I do not think my dress is stained. I think AJ is making that up.
2 - We've actually moved the dress FIVE times.
3- I WILL NOT be selling my dress on EBAY. It may be a waste of space, but it's MY waste of space - and fortunately, we have lots of space right now!
I think you should keep it, you never know when it will come in handy... like one group of women i knew, they got together and brought their dresses with or wore them and reminisce about their day. And yes, mine is in a box taking up space as well.
There would be additional reason to keep the dress if pre/post Magnus it still fit. I lost that reason to keep my wedding suit xx pounds ago.
I finally rescued my wedding dress from the perils of the J Ranch garage! (It is in it's preservation box or whatever.)
Uhhmmm best reason I can think of to keep it.... I know it is many years down the road but wouldn't be fun watching your grand kids play dress up in it?? Well at least thats the excuse I am using to keep mine around..
The wedding dress is one of those items that I KNOW (along with the hideous table that my in-laws gave us for our first table) has to make every move that we have made in our journey of life. While I keep hoping that I eventually will be able to pass that table off to one of the kids (hopefully it will be gone before the grandkids get married), the "box" will be with us forever and that I will never be able to put a gun cabinet in that part of the closet that "the Dress" now occupies.
