I'll take that World's Best Mom trophy now, thanks.

In the last couple of days, I completed the following Master Mom events:

* Took all 3 kids to the wading pool. No one drowned. Followed that up with taking them all to the park, too. Left with all 3 kids.
* Took all 3 kids to the grocery store. No one went crazy.
* Gave the baby a bath with the other two "watching". People, that is the most involved, physical WATCHING ever.
* Made Leah and Ben banana splits for snack/dessert. Oh yes. I am THAT COOL.
* The next morning, took all 3 kids to do Adam's one month photos. Totally bribed them with candy from the 4th of July parade, but it worked.
* Managed to get both boys to nap at the same time, which means that MOMMY got a nap.
* Sent Aaron to a movie with his brother while Adam was in the middle of a 45 minute screaming fit.
* Got Adam out of that screaming fit by putting him to bed.
* Bathed both older kids and got them to bed - no snack OR story (too late), and no arguments, either.
* Then EJ and I scrapbooked until too late (11pm). But it was fun!

Basically what I'm saying here is that the last couple of days have made me feel that I can do this thing, this being a mom of 3 kids.

Of course, in my Mom of the Year acceptance speech I'll have to give generous credit to my loving, attentive husband who tries to make sure I get a nap every day, and my wonderful brother-in-law and his wife, who visit frequently. He cooks dinner and she reads books and plays games with Leah and Ben - can you really ask for better in-laws? Obviously, I thank God for putting all these folks in my life...including the 3 that gave me the job in the first place.

Imagine doing it with two babies instead of one. Then give your trophy to your mom. :)

Need pictures!

Haha! You are absolutely right, Aaron. Maybe it should be a traveling trophy, handed to any mom who feels like she did a good job that day - believe me, it doesn't happen that often!

Mom was telling me the other day about grocery shopping with all four of us the other day, and it did NOT sound like a mom event I'd like to attempt. Moms of multiples are in an entirely different category.

Liz, you're quite the mom! You shouldn't have ever questioned your abilities. Keep up the good work. 8~)

Aaron, I'm working on pictures! :)

No doubt Aaron!

Awww Lyz! We absolutely love visiting... I was already like, when are we going again?? on the way home. (How's that for great grammar by the way?!) ; ) I'm glad that you can feel proud of your Mommy accomplishments and am feeling more able to handle this Mommy-of-three business!

Add "On pace to complete David Copperfield in time for next Book Club." to the above and I'll really be impressed.

My wife decided to read a 1000 page book before getting serious with Mr Dickens' tome.

Funny - I stumbled upon your blog when I googled "Space Alien Restaurant" -- I was hoping for online coupons...yeah, right.

And there was this great blog I could totally relate to and hilarious to boot! I have 4 kiddos ages 8, 6, 4, and 15mo.

So just saying "hello" to a fellow Midwest Mama. Here is your Gold Medal to go along with your trophy. It reads: For mothering with your sense of humor in tact.

Tara - Remember that "Aaron" is my brother, not husband...he's nagging ME, not you!:) Although I can't wait to see those shots, too!

Noel - I don't know about "on track" but I have started David Copperfield, and feel fairly confident that I'll have it read in time! Tell your wife good luck from me - I know her reading habits!

Jeannie - Can I say how much you made my day? Thanks so much for reading and commenting - hope you make it back!

Ilene told me that _David Copperfield_ isn't due until the end of August, so she has the time, if not the will, to complete it.

She's on page 893 of just under 1000 for _Pillars of the Earth_. I can't figure out how she outread me during our Lake Superior vacation. I got 2+ books read.
